Alliance

Best race:

  • Human allows you to play with with Relentless which is important when facing comps with high amounts of crowd control, such as against RMD, while while still having Every Man for Himself to break out of stuns during deadly kill attempts on you

Alternative race:

All

  • Dwarf/Dark Iron Dwarf is a viable option for reducing the damage you take against assassination rogues and feral druids with Stoneform/Fireblood

Horde

Best race:

  • Orc is easily the best pick as you’ll get the stun reduction from Hardiness while still being able to play with Gladiator’s Medallion – you also get a nice damage boost from Blood Fury which can be combined with your Touch of Death

ALTERNATIVE TALENTS

Eye of the Tiger can help to keep rogues and druids out of stealth as it applies a damage over time effect – it can also be necessary when playing with a mage to avoid breaking Polymorph with Chi-Wave

Good Karma can be necessary to survive in matchups where the opposing team has enough burst to quickly break through your Touch of Karma

Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger can be useful in extremely fast paced matchups for more burst damage to help score quick kills

Standard

  • Reverse Harm is always used
  • Turbo Fists should be used against teams with a melee
  • Alpha Tiger provides a significant dps increase if used correctly but should be swapped out for a more defensive option if you’re struggling to survive

Optional

  • Fortifying Brew is a great pick if you need an additional defensive cooldown to help you survive or if you want to buff the damage of your Touch of Death by using it offensively
  • Grapple Weapon should be used against most melee dps to peel at vital times – it can even be used through a warriors Die by the Sword and rogues Evasion
  • Ride the Wind is a niche pick that can be used to increase your teams mobility, for example to help your healer kite or to help your dps partner connect to your target or to counter Corrupted Gladiator’s Spite
  • Tigereye Brew is great for increasing your damage against high armor targets – you should consider taking this when struggling to kill warriors, paladins, death knights and destruction warlocks

Major

  • Conflict and Strife – by far the best major essence for windwalker monks as it gives you the only mandatory PvP talent, Reverse Harm while also increasing your best stat, versatility, and even doubling it when you’re stunned to make it easier to survive kill attempts
  • Breath of the Dying – great pick when playing ww mage

  • 1x Fury of Xuen
  • 1x Dance of Chi-Ji
  • 1x Pressure Point
  • 1x Sweep the Leg
  1. Versatile and 2x Lash of the Void – your best overall build for both offence and defence
  2. Gushing Wound – excellent choice to increase your damage for very little corruption
  • Corrupted Gladiator’s Emblem – great pick both defensively and offensively (to increase your Touch of Death damage)
  • Writhing Segment of Drest’agath – great offensive option that allows you to instantly burst down your target to force cooldowns or score kills
  • Corrupted Gladiator’s Spite – great pick for your team to all use when playing ww dk or ww mage
  • Corrupted Gladiator’s Insignia/Corrupted Gladiator’s Badge – these trinkets pair well with the Versatile build and can be equipped to significantly increase your versatility when using it
